Restore purchases

Restore PRO (Android)

If your subscription plan is active but PRO version seems to be unavailable, please do the following:

  • Check if you are signed under the same Google Play account that was used to purchase the subscription. (To see your current Google account, proceed to Google Play Store > tap on menu icon > your Google account will appear on the top of the page right under your avatar).
  • Clear FaceApp cache memory.
  • Change your current internet connection (try another Wi-Fi or mobile network).
  • Reinstall the application (delete it from your phone and then install anew from Google Play Store).

If all steps described above did not help, do not worry - we still got this. Here is what you need to do:

  • Proceed to payments.google.com -> Other purchase activity -> View purchases -> the order for your purchase of FaceApp subscription. Find your Order ID in this receipt (starts with GPA).
  • Send an email to our support team (Settings > Support > Report bug and send logs), describe the situation shortly in comment section and add your Order ID (from the previous step).

Restore PRO (iOS)

If your subscription plan is active but PRO version seems to be unavailable, you can always restore your purchase. Here are the steps to do that:

  • Check if you are signed under the same Apple ID that was used to purchase the subscription. If you forgot which Apple ID it was, check the receipt that Apple has sent to your e-mail after the purchase.
  • Open FaceApp Settings and tap on 'Restore purchases' option.
  • If you see your purchase, restart the application and check if PRO version is available.

If restoring purchases did not help, you can still try the following:

  • Change your internet connection (try another Wi-Fi or mobile network).
  • Clear application's cache.
  • Reinstall the application (delete it from your device and then install it again anew from App Store).

If all steps described above did not help, do not worry - we still got this. Here is what you need to do:

  • Proceed to Settings > Support > Report bug and send logs. Don't forget to describe the issue shortly in the comment section and mention all the steps that you have already tried.
  • A message will be sent to our support team with your log files and they will be able to assist on the situation.

Transfer PRO From iOS To Android & Vice Versa

Your subscription status is linked to a certain Apple ID or Google Play account that you have used to purchase it.

Unfortunately, different platforms are not interchangeable. This means that if you switched from iOS to Android or vice versa, you will not be able to transfer your subscription to your new device. Sadly, this is how these platforms work, we have no power over Google Play accounts or Apple IDs.

Family Sharing (iOS)

Unfortunately, our application is not included in Family shared application pool.

This means that you and other members of your family will not be able to share the subscription to FaceApp even if you have Family Sharing enabled.

How To Use PRO On Several Devices

One of the best features of our subscription plans is that you can use them on as many devices as you wish simultaneously. It doesn't matter if you have a new number, SIM card or device.

There are two things you should remember:

  1. Subscription plan can only be shared between devices with the same OS (only Android or only iOS).
  2. If you want to use your active subscription on another device, make sure to sign in under the same Apple ID / Google Play account that was used to purchase it. If you forgot the account, you can always check your receipts, both Google and Apple send them to your mail after subscription purchase.

PRO version

Subscription Types

Subscriptions are automatically charged every billing period (whether monthly, annually, or another period), and you may be charged no more than 24 hours before the beginning of each billing period.

There are three of subscription plans, all three provide the same benefits:

  • Monthly plan assumes that you pay every month.
  • Yearly plan assumes that you pay once a year a full amount for 12 months.
  • Lifetime plan is one-time payment providing you with PRO version until forever.

You will be able to see the cost of all three plans right there in the PRO version section, currency and amounts depend on the country of your Google account's or Apple ID's origin.

Payment Issues/Cannot Pay (Android)

Step One: Review Accepted Payment Methods

For Google Play they are:

  • Most credit and debit cards.
  • Mobile phone billing.
  • Google Play balance.
  • Google Play gift cards.
  • PayPal.

However, please be advised that the availability of each of them depends on your region. Also, ensure that the desired payment method is supported in your country.

Step Two: Verify The Payment Information

The payment can be declined because of a typo in the billing address or an expired card. To exclude this possibility, you would want to:

  • Open Google Play Market app on your device.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap on Payment methods.
  • Find the payment method you are trying to use for the purchase.
  • Make sure that the address listed matches the billing address of your card and the expiration date of the payment method is valid.
  • Remove or update expired/incorrect payment details.

Step Three: Take A Look At The Most Common Errors And Solutions

Below are described the most common errors one may run into when making an order:

Your payment was declined due to an issue with your account.

This error occurs when Google Play notices what it perceives as suspicious activities on your account or requires more information to protect your data and comply with laws.

Solution: go to the payment centre (https://pay.google.com/), make sure you comply with what the errors tell about and verify your name, address and payment information. In some cases, Google may ask to verify your identity.

Payment method is greyed out.

This means that that payment method is unsupported and cannot be used in your region. Use a different payment method to complete the purchase.

You cannot pay with mobile phone billing.

First of all, make sure that the mobile phone billing has been added as a payment method in your account (see Step two).

If the payment method is in its place and the issue is still present, make sure you are connected to the local network and using your local currency.

In case, if none of the tips helped, contact your mobile service provider for assistance.

You cannot add a payment method.

Please, go to the payment centre and make sure that all the payment information is up to date and the desired payment method is in its place.

For more details, please navigate to the Google Play knowledge base.

Payment Issues/Cannot Pay (iOS)

One of the most common issues that occur in the apps markets is not being able to pay for your order. For such occasions, we prepared the tips below.

Step One: Review Accepted Payment Methods

For App Store they are:

  • Most credit and debit cards.
  • Mobile phone billing.
  • App Store balance.
  • App Store gift cards.
  • PayPal.

However, please be advised that the availability of each of them depends on your region. Please ensure that the desired payment method is supported in your country.

Step Two: Verify The Payment Information

The payment can be declined because of a typo in the billing address or an expired card. To exclude this possibility, you would want to:

  • Open Settings of your iOS device.
  • Tap your name, then tap iTunes & App Store.
  • Tap your Apple ID, then tap View Apple ID. You might be asked to sign in.
  • Tap Manage Payments (or Payment Information for an older iOS version).
  • Make sure that the payment information saved there is up to date.
  • Remove or update incorrect data.
Note: Your card may have specific restrictions which cause the transaction to be declined. Contact the institution that issued your card to ask about the transaction and see if they know the reason for the decline.

Step Three: Take A Look At The Most Common Errors And Solutions

Below are described the most common errors one may run into when making an order:

'There is a billing problem with a previous purchase. Please edit your billing info to correct the problem' or 'There is a billing problem with a previous purchase. Click Purchase History to view and correct the problem. If you cancel, you will not be able to buy until this billing issue has been resolved'.

These errors occurs when you have an unpaid balance in the App Store. To solve the problem, add a new payment method (see Step Two) or correct the existing one for a charge to be processed. Right after that the App Store will be unblocked, and you will be able to install the apps, including free ones.

Note: If none of the payment methods can be charged, your last order will remain unpaid.

Your payment method was declined.

Under each payment method you might see the description of the reason of why the payment was declined. For more details, please navigate to the App Store knowledge base.

How Do I Manage My Subscription (iOS)?

Subscriptions are handled by AppStore and it is this service that directly charges users. Due to AppStore policies, developers cannot access users' payment information and account details. We can only address users to their devices' subscription management settings:

On your device, navigate to Settings > tap your user name > Subscriptions.

Tap here for an official and detailed AppStore instruction.

Please be advised that, since subscriptions are handled by AppStore, they handle refund questions as well. We do not have control over charges.

Can I Use It Offline?

Unfortunately, using FaceApp offline is impossible at current stage of technology development. You may use both WiFi and Mobile networks because picture processing does not take much data.

Due to the complexity of picture processing by the AI, all the photo editing you are going through on your device actually needs online connection. This both makes applying filters happen faster and leaves your device out of high loads.

Tips, How to edit, Suggestions for better results

Here are some alternations to faces you might want to try with FaceApp.

Tip: Use well-lit photos with clear faces. The better the source picture - the better the result!
  1. Aging filters.

Undoubtadly, one of the most popular features of our product! Who doesn’t want to see oneself in old age or significantly younger?

  • Select a photo.
  • Go to FUN > tap on one of the filters: Young HD, Old HD, Cool Old HD, Time Machine, Old, Young.
  • Enjoy the result and share it with your friends on social media. :)
  1. Background change.

  • Select a photo.
  • Go to Editor > Background.
  • Pick a background feature: 1) from your device gallery; 2) from the WEB; 3) from built-in pictures we collected for you.
  • Increase or decrease lighting effect with the slider.
  • Apply changes and enjoy!
Tip: Sometimes less is better. Applying all the available features on one picture might cause an unexpected result.
  1. Face impression change.

You have a nice picture where you look lovely but sad. Want to change it? Easy!

  • Select a photo.
  • Go to Editor > Smiles.
  • Tap one of the options you find most suitable.
  • Apply changes, save the pic (tap on the arrow in the upper right corner of the screen) and enjoy!
Note: FaceApp is designed to transform human faces, not animal. Please do not expect it to apply a beard on your dog's face or to adjust your body appearance. Only selfies, only hardcore! :)
  1. Makeup.

Add more colors to your selfie!

  • Select a photo.
  • Go to Editor > Makeup.
  • Pick a style, save the picture, have fun!
Tip: It is better not to double properties. If you already have a beard or bright makeup, it is expected that the outcome of photo editing will not be significant.

Nothing distracts from you face now!

  • Select a photo.
  • Go to Editor > Blur.
  • Select a style.
  • Adjust saturation and brightness.
  • Apply changes, save the result, enjoy!

How To Edit Photos

There are 3 different ways to edit a photo into FaceApp:

  1. You can use your camera by clicking on the camera icon in the upper left corner.
  2. You can choose a picture from your photo gallery. FaceApp will show you those pictures from your photo gallery which contain a face. If you don’t see the needed image right there, you can always tap on the Photos button on the Sources bar.
  3. Also, you can have some fun by changing faces of celebrities. Tap on the Celebrities button on the Sources bar and type in any name you’d like.

Difference Between Fun And Editor

Fun section has more than 40 cool and funny filters. The images in this section will be cropped for better editing of the face. Some of the filters are set by default as a 'before&after' collages.

Editor section provides full-sized filters allowing to edit not cropped images, as well as different manual editing tools such as skin retouch, overlay and much more.

Layouts section makes it possible to create various collages to share results of applying different filters at one time.

Tip: Try to move and zoom the image in the mirror collage.

How To Save And/Or Share Edited Pictures

To save the result, tap the Save button in the upper right corner of the screen. The image will be saved immediately in the photo gallery on your device. Also, you will be able to share the image on social nets. Please note that sharing requires login to your account on the chosen social network.

The up arrow button allows to send the image via email, as a message, share it via Airdrop or to open the image in some other applications without saving it on your device first.

How to delete edited pictures

  1. You can find the edited and saved pictures in the folder named FaceApp and delete them there or use the default gallery app. Deleted pictures should also disappear from the app.
  2. If you still can see already deleted pictures in the app, you need to clear the cache or data, so it refreshes FaceApp.
